I have just one question...

Can it get any hotter??? We have been in the triple digits now for two weeks and can I just tell you that it is HOT!! I can handle the 100-105 degree weather but when it is 115, it is down right hellish. I made the comment to Kim (we were getting out of the car and it was about 114 at 5:30pm) that this is what hell must feel like but without any water!! I do not understand why people live here in the summer. It is sad to think about the resources (e.g., electricity, natural gas, etc.) that are exhausted in Phoenix alone May through September. I think the government should ban people from living in Phoenix for the summer. Good luck with that huh?!?

Because of the heat, we have been opting out on dinner. What do you fix when it is 115? We have been living on Popsicles and fresh fruit. Jason's appetite has even begun to waiver. The workout room at our complex has been closed for painting and so I decided to take my workout outside. I made it about 15 minutes outside and I was done! I won't be trying that again here in Phoenix!

To stay cool we have been doing everything and anything we can. On Friday night we decided to venture outside to let Jason get some fresh air, regardless of the heat, and much to our surprise the sprinklers came on and the next thing we knew....

Jason was running through the sprinklers and was soaking wet!! He loved every minute of it. It looked so fun that Kim and I joined him. It was a great way to cool off.

This next picture is my favorite. Regardless of how much water he got in his face, he would not give up running through the sprinklers!

Jason seems to be changing so quickly. He is now 20 months and makes us laugh all the time. I decided to jot down some of the things that Jason does on a daily/weekly basis. They include:
  • running in place really really fast
  • setting in the corner in his room and playing with his barn or reading a book
  • typing on the computer and turning the screen off and on
  • unlocking and opening the car door
  • holding the keys (especially Bubba and Sara's keys that have the keyless entry)
  • covering his ears
  • dancing around the ottoman in the living room to the song Whenever, Wherever by Shakira
  • playing in the bathroom sink and playing with all the toothbrushes he can find
  • playing Billiards on my cell phone (I have know idea how he navigates to the game, but he does it almost every time)
  • blowing on his noodles to cool them off
  • smiling like crazy and kissing any mirror he is in front of
  • saying "Hi" repeatedly in a higher pitched voice (so cute!!)
  • watching baseball games (whether it is on TV or live)
Here are some more pictures of Jason during dinner time.

I can't believe that this spoonful actually made it to his mouth without falling off the spoon!!

He was one happy kid!! Just one more picture before I sign off...

Have a good week.

I'm glad you haven't melted!! I wish I could get out there to see you guys but I am feeling a little burnt out on travelling! But who knows.. there is still plenty of summer left! Jason is such a cutie.. I am glad to see you found something a little more masculine for his feet!!-liz

I didn't realize he and Lucy were so close in age. She is 22 months, and I can't believe she will be 2 in August!! I still think if her as my little baby! It's crazy that it's so hot there!!! We just barely warmed up this week, and I am already dreading being pregnant through the summer...again.

It sounds like you guys are baking down there! I can’t even imagine how miserable 115 degree weather must be.

I love when little kids say hi repeatedly to me in the store. Jason sounds very social just like his mom!
