The Good and the Bad

The good:
This past week went by so fast....almost too fast! My mom and sister flew into town on Wed. night. We had a great time hanging out, shopping, eating, and watching a chick flick. On Thursday morning we rode the trolley in Scottsdale. It wasn't a very long trolley ride though because Jason was hungry and tired, so we ended the ride early. Thursday afternoon, my sister and I went to a Dbacks game and later that night, after Jason went to bed, we went shopping. Friday morning we did some more shopping and then went and visited my Aunt Irene and Uncle Gail. We ended the day by laying by the pool and watching a chick flick, which I talked Kim into watching with us!! We dropped my mom and sister off at the airport on Saturday around noon. Two and a half days just wasn't enough!! Jason had a great time hanging out with family again and was sad to see Lori and Grandma go, as were Kim and I. Here are a couple pictures of our week.
The bad...
Kim and I went out to get in the car this afternoon to go to church and Kim noticed that the hood of the car was not shut all the way. He lifted the hood of the car and nothing seemed to be wrong so he shut the hood and proceeded to unlock the doors and put Jason in his car-seat. When we got in the front of the car we found a big hole with wires sticking out where our stereo use to be!! Our car was broken into last night and our stereo was stolen. We were pretty upset by the situation initially, but as we started looking through the car to see what else they took, we found everything else and I mean EVERYTHING was in tact. They didn't take the money that was left in the car, the CDs, Jason's car seat, Kim's work stuff....nothing. All they wanted was the cheap $100 stereo!! Amazingly they did not break a window to get in the car. The police think that they used a Slim Jim to unlock the doors and popped the hood of the car to disconnect the battery to steal the stereo. The funniest part is that they even locked the doors back up when they were done...why, thank you! How thoughtful!! Come to find out, the thieves broke into another couple's car and busted out their window and stole the stereo and an iPod FM transmitter. Our friends, Aaron and Sara, had a car parked on a back street that leads to the gates of our apartment. Their car has been sitting there for about 6 months and nothing has happened to it, until last night. The thieves broke their back window. That's it!! Didn't trash the car or steal anything, just broke the back window out.
Even though our car was broken into, we have much to be grateful for. Nothing on/in our car was destroyed. Just a cheap car stereo missing....with a great mix CD in it. Maybe whoever they hawk the stereo to will be happily surprised with our choice of tunes!! Life in the big city....isn't it great!!
